Let’s play “What’s in my purse?”

I’m always the friend with the biggest purse; the bigger the better. Most of my friends carry just a small wallet or a small cross-body bag so with my tote, I usually have the biggest purse in the group. Because it is so large, people always ask “What the heck is in there?” or “How could you possibly need that much stuff?” Since I get these questions so often, I figured I’d just let everyone know exactly what I’m constantly carrying around.

Let me start out by saying I have way more stuff in my purse than I thought. I did not know half of this stuff was in there but I understand why past me put it there and I’m sure future me will appreciate it.

Besides my wallet and the two small bags, this is everything in my purse:

• Travel size Naked palette
  • Most of the time I go out without any makeup on so I keep this in my purse just in case random plans pop up and I want to look like something other than a potato.
• Altoids
  • A necessity.
• Tissues
  • A necessity.
• Burt’s Bees Lip Balm
  • A necessity.
• Travel size Wet Brush
  • For some reason, I brush my hair like 30 times a day. I always feel better and less stressed once my hair is brushed so I definitely need this.
• Travel size lint roller
  • I wear black pants to work so this comes in handy very often.
• Hand lotion
  • A necessity.
• Travel size dry shampoo
  • This is just as important as my naked palette. Because I go out looking like a potato most of the time, it is nice to have dry shampoo to save me if I decide to look decent.
• Gum
  • A necessity.
• Travel size deodorant
  • The ULTIMATE necessity.
• Pen
  • A necessity.
  • (I actually have five pens and two pencils in my purse.)

• Monthly planner
  • I would be lost without my monthly planner. All throughout school I always had my weekly agenda so once I graduated I felt incomplete without something to write my life down in.
• Baby wipes
  • These are the latest addition to my purse. My friend Molly told me she always keeps baby wipes with her and it sounded pretty logical so I got some. I have yet to use them but I’m sure at some point they will come in handy.
• Bottle opener
  • A necessity.
• Check book
  • Ya never know when you are gonna have to write someone a check.
• Instant oatmeal
  • I’m not really sure how oatmeal got in my purse but for some reason I still haven’t taken it out. I feel like it is a good emergency meal if I’m at work and don’t want to order food. All I’ll have to do is add some hot water and bam… dinner!

In my “Good vibes only” bag:

• Ibuprofen
  • A necessity. This is the #1 thing people ask me for and I am happy to supply it for them.
• Compact mirror
  • I cannot stand looking in mirrors so normally other people use this more than I do.
• Alcohol wipes
  • I’m not too sure why these are in there…
• Oil absorbing sheets
  • My face gets oily so quickly that these are constant lifesavers.
• BB cream
  • This is also for those days I look a potato.
• Bobby pins and a clip
  • I always always always have bobby pins just in case my hair is bothering me and I want it out of my face but don’t want to put it all the way up.
• Perfume
  • A necessity.
• Eyeliner
  • I didn’t know this was in there either but not complaining!
• Makeup brushes
  • The Naked palette doesn’t come with brushes so I have these to use with that.
• Tampons
  • A necessity.
• Dryer sheet
  • A winter necessity! Dryer sheets are great for getting static out of your hair. You’re welcome.

This is what the Naked palette looks like on the inside:

In my little plaid bag:

• Travel size floss
• Travel size Advil
• Travel size nail polish remover
• Travel size deodorant
• Travel size tampon
• Travel size breath drops
• Travel size hairspray
• Travel size clear nail polish
• Travel size lip balm

My Aunt Cindy gave me this little bag a few years ago for Christmas and I love it. It has everything you could possibly imagine and it all fits perfectly in the little tiny pouch.

When I go out and have to downsize my purse, I always grab my deodorant, brush, chap stick, and oil wipes. I would say those are my top four necessities besides my wallet.

So for all of you always wondering what is in my purse, here ya go! It’s a little bit of everything and a little bit of nothing.  I like knowing that I’m prepared and have everything I need at all times. I also love helping people so it is always a good day when I have something someone might need but otherwise would not have.
